Our Team

Dr. Opal Amin, is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin. She completed her optometric studies along with her Optometric Glaucoma Specialty at the University of Houston College of Optometry, and she continued on to complete a residency in Cornea and Specialty Contact Lenses at the University of Houston. In 2010, she went on to become a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry. Opal is very happy to be back in Austin practicing. When not in the office, she enjoys music, the outdoors and traveling with her husband, Ishan.

Eye Doctor Douglas Clark graduated from Indiana University School of Optometry in 1976, and went on to become an instructor of optometry at Southern College from 1976 to 1979. He then moved to Austin in 1979 and became a full time partner with Troy Taylor, Fred Watson, and John Knowles at TSO Capital Plaza in 1981. Watson and Taylor retired in 1987, and John Knowles retired in 2007, leaving the proprietorship solely to Dr. Clark. In 2000, he became an Optometric Glaucoma Specialist. He enjoys spending his time off with his wife Gayle, and their two children Travis and Diana. Water and snow skiing are among his favorite.

Dr. Tammy Nguyen is a licensed therapeutic optometrist and optometric glaucoma specialist who earned her bachelor’s degree at the University of Colorado at Boulder in Integrative Physiology. After graduation, she went on to obtain her doctorate at the Southern California College of Optometry at Marshall B. Ketchum University. Dr. Nguyen is passionate about her profession and believes in the importance of a strong patient and doctor team, striving to educate her patients to be proactive about their eye health. Outside of the office, she continues to keep up-to-date with the latest knowledge and technology in optometry. Originally a Colorado native, she naturally loves the outdoors and tries to explore all the great things that Austin has to offer in her free time.

Dr. Weeden studied optometry at Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. After receiving his degree, he briefly served as an optometrist in the United States Air Force before meeting and marrying a Texas girl. Dr. Weeden has been practicing optometry for twenty-seven years, and has Ocular Therapeutics and Optometric Glaucoma Specialist certifications. Dr. Weeden’s free time is hoarded by his wife and children! He loves all kinds of sports and is an active member of his church.

Dr. Marcela Lopez is a licensed therapeutic optometrist and optometric glaucoma specialist. She completed her undergraduate studies at Texas Tech University, majoring in Biology, then went on to the University of Houston College of Optometry to earn her Doctor of Optometry Degree. Following graduation, Dr. Lopez completed a clinical residency in ocular disease and refractive surgery management. She is passionate about providing full-scope optometric care to all ages and sharing the importance of ocular health to our overall health. She is also a fluent Spanish speaker. In her free time, Dr. Lopez enjoys outdoor activities, trying out new restaurants, and spending time with friends and family.
